## 01 · Four levels. The script fades away.

The same dialogue, four times. What changes is how much of your own line you can see.

1. **Beginner** — Read your full line aloud. Get the sentence flowing before you have to think about it.
2. **Intermediate** — Half the key words are blanked out. You supply the ones that matter.
3. **Advanced** — Only first letters remain. The hint is there, but you can’t read off it.
4. **Ultra** — Your line is hidden. You see what you mean and say it in English. That is a real conversation.

One rule for passing: at most one wrong word per line. Every line right, and the level is cleared.

## 02 · Know what you missed. Hear how you sound.

Everything below happens on the phone, in the moment after you stop talking.

### Scored word by word

The moment you stop, every word you didn’t say is marked. Homophones count as right: “Li” and “Lee” sound the same, and this is speaking practice, not spelling.

- Numbers, ordinals and abbreviations are matched by sound, not spelling
- One rule: at most one wrong word per line
- Miss the bar and the dialogue comes back sooner

### Hear your own voice

Every line you say is recorded, so you can play it back right next to the model reading. Where you differ, you hear it in one listen.

## 05 · Your voice never leaves the phone

- **Speech recognition** (on your iPhone): Apple’s on-device recognition. Audio and transcripts are never uploaded, to us or to anyone.
- **Your recordings** (this session only): Kept in a temporary folder so you can play them back, deleted when you leave the practice screen. Never in iCloud.
- **Progress** (your device, your iCloud): Stored on the phone. Optional sync goes through your own iCloud, which we cannot read.
- **Feedback** (when you tap Send): What you typed, screenshots you chose, and four diagnostic values: version, device model, OS and language.
- **Everything else** (never): No account, no analytics, no ads, no third-party SDKs.

## 06 · Questions

**Do I need to be online?**

No. Dialogues, the glossary and speech recognition are all on the phone; airplane mode works. Only feedback and purchases need a connection.

**It doesn’t recognise what I say.**

Check that Microphone and Speech Recognition are allowed in Settings. If your device doesn’t support on-device English recognition, the app switches to keyboard input: type the line, and scoring works exactly the same.

**How do I clear a level?**

At most one wrong word per line, on every line. That is the only rule; there is no percentage to remember.

**I don’t read Chinese. Is it for me?**

The dialogues are English, and so is the interface if you choose it. Word definitions and line translations are in Chinese, so it fits best if Chinese is your first language.

**How do I cancel?**

Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Unscript. Apple manages the subscription; the lifetime purchase never renews.
